Cold Water / Ice Rescue Training
It is the day before Christmas Eve. The kids are out of school for the holidays. A seemingly innocent game of catch turns ugly when a ten-year-old boy ventures out onto the ice to retrieve a poorly-thrown ball off the neighborhood's local retention pond and falls through the thin ice. As the boy struggles unsuccessfully to save himself, frantic witnesses call YOUR department. Will you know what to do? Pioneer Rescue & Outfitters, LLC offers North America's finest cold water/ ice rescue training program available. In just one day your department can be trained to the technician level, giving you the skills necessary to perform a successful rescue. We will conduct training at possible rescue sites in your area, allowing you to keep your training costs down. We will tailor the training to work with your available resources.
The morning will be spent in the classroom discussing:
- The aquatic environment
- Hypothermia
- Emotional state of the victim and the rescuer
- Equipment
- Pre-planning
- On-scene
The afternoon will be spent on-site for hands-on exercises covering:
- Self-Rescue
- Reach Rescue
- Throw Rescue
- Row Rescue
- Go Rescue
- Fees:
- Course - $600.00 for groups up to 20 people
- Travel - $.60 per mile round trip from Neenah, WI
- Materials - $15.00 for manual and embroidered patch
